MyPWD Database
A locked safe for your passwords and your personal papers.
Windows
Soon !
The PC version is being prepared.
One master password opens the safe. Everything you put in it is encrypted and stays on your computer: no account, no subscription, nothing sent anywhere. It speaks seven languages.
What the safe holds
- Logins: sites, user names, passwords
- Licenses: your software licences
- Insurance: your policies, with the dates and the premium
- Bank: bank and credit cards
- Medical: insurance and clinic cards
- Car: driver’s licences, front and back in photos
- Passports
- People: phone numbers, e-mails, addresses, photo
What you need
- A master password, which you choose the first time you open it
- A recovery key, which the application gives you: keep it somewhere else — it is the only spare door
On Macs that have one, Touch ID opens the safe without retyping the password. The safe closes by itself after a while, and whatever you copy is wiped from the clipboard after two minutes.
Your backups
The application keeps its own copies automatically, the last fifty of them. And File > One-time backup to… puts one wherever you want: a USB key, an external disk.
The first time you open it
This application is given away free and is not registered with Apple. macOS will therefore ask you to confirm once: open System Settings > Privacy & Security, then click Open Anyway. Once, and never again. The Read me first file delivered with the application explains it in detail.
The user guide
It is inside the application, under Help > Manual.
MyPWD Database is free, and always will be. Share it freely.
