It had been a lifetime dream for Pascal Taschereau Sensei, a student of Chiba Sensei, to
buy a land and build his own dojo to teach Aikido.
A dream that he finally realized in 1992 when he bought an old farm in the countryside
near the village of Eastman. After a lot of work he renovated not only the house but also
an old barn that he transformed into a beautiful dojo. The SakuShuKan Dojo was
born.
Here, you can see different views of the dojo. In the summer, we can remove an entire wall
on the side of the dojo with a view on a beautiful Japanese garden.
In 2001, Sensei and some of his students decided to build a second
dojo in the outdoor. We can now practice Aikido, weapons (boken
and jo) and Iaido in an incredible atmosphere.
You really
get the feeling of practicing in the outdoor and this experience can be very exhilarating,
especially during a thunder storm.
